Stadium - WALS-SEIZENHEIM (Capacity 30,000)
Salzburg is the birth place of Mozart and the old town is a living tribute to the great man. If you get a chance to visit the old town, spend a few moments taking in the awe of Mozarts legacy. Salzburg was also the one time home of Maria Von Trapp, the wayward nun in The Sound of Music. The film was shot in Salzburg and a visit to the gardens and the lake will transport you back to the film. A truly wonderful place.
Salzburg has a fantastic selection of quality hotels and for anyone who likes the cultural aspects of the city they are visiting we would strongly recommend a hotel in the old town.
Euro 2008 football matches will be hosted at Salzburg stadium - WALS-SEIZENHEIM and recent renovation has increased seating capacity to 30,000. It is located next door to Salzburg airport which is approximately 3 kilometers from the city so please leave in plenty of time and arrange transportation if it is required for any less able bodied spectators. Please check with your hotel in advance and request that they pre-book a taxi on your behalf to ensure your travel arrangements are secure.
